Our VELUX® glass replacement service fixes damaged, misted or inefficient glazing units. We use genuine glass units and components, so your windows keep their performance and energy efficiency.
Replacing just the glass is the right choice when the frame and operating mechanism are still sound but the sealed unit has failed or the pane has cracked. Because the frame stays in place, it is faster, cleaner and cheaper than replacing the whole window.
Signs the glass needs replacing
- Misted double glazing – condensation between the panes means the perimeter seal has failed
- Cracked or broken glass – caused by impact, thermal stress or accidental damage
- Draughty or cold pane – old sealed units no longer insulate as intended
- Water between the panes – a clear sign the seal has broken down
Glass options
- Standard sealed units – restore clarity and basic insulation
- Low-E glazing – improves thermal performance and reduces heat loss
- Toughened safety glass – ideal for bathrooms, schools and areas where safety matters
- Obscure or patterned glass – privacy for bathrooms and en-suites
- Solar-control glass – reduces overheating in south-facing roof windows
- Laminated glass – extra security and noise reduction
How it works
We assess the window, advise on the best glass for your needs and measure the failed unit on site. The new unit is made to the exact size of your VELUX frame, then fitted with care so it seals and operates correctly. Old glass units are disposed of responsibly.
If the frame itself is damaged, a full VELUX window replacement is the better option.
Frequently asked questions
Can you replace the glass without replacing the window?
Yes – if the frame and mechanism are sound, we replace just the sealed glazing unit with one made to fit your VELUX frame.
Can I upgrade the glass at the same time?
Yes. You can choose low-E, toughened, laminated, obscure or solar-control glass to suit the room.
