Local Penarth Considerations for Sun Tunnel Installation
We install VELUX sun tunnels in Penarth and the surrounding area to bring natural daylight into rooms with no external wall. Rigid or flexible tunnels are chosen based on the roof and ceiling route.
What happens during a sun tunnel installation in Penarth?
For Penarth homes, we survey the roof covering, rafter positions and ceiling before fitting the roof dome, reflective tube and ceiling diffuser.
- A small roof dome is fitted on the roof and a reflective tube is routed to the ceiling.
- The work area is cleaned and the system is checked before we leave.
- We choose rigid or flexible tubing based on the straightness of the route and the light level needed.
- The ceiling diffuser is installed in the room below and sealed neatly.
Sun tunnel installation know-how for Penarth
Sun tunnel performance in Penarth depends on keeping the route as short and straight as possible. We plan this during the initial survey for every property.
- Flexible tunnels are used when the route around roof timbers is not straight.
- Solar-powered and electric diffusers are available for hard-to-reach rooms.
- Rigid sun tunnels are the most efficient option when the roof dome is almost directly above the ceiling.
