Local Frome Considerations for Sun Tunnel Installation
We install VELUX sun tunnels in Frome and the surrounding area to bring natural daylight into rooms with no external wall. Rigid or flexible tunnels are chosen based on the roof and ceiling route.
What happens during a sun tunnel installation in Frome?
A sun tunnel installation in Frome is planned around the Georgian and Victorian found in the property and the conditions it will be exposed to. We choose rigid or flexible tubing accordingly.
- A small roof dome is fitted on the roof and a reflective tube is routed to the ceiling.
- We choose rigid or flexible tubing based on the straightness of the route and the light level needed.
- The ceiling diffuser is installed in the room below and sealed neatly.
- We check the roof covering, rafter positions and ceiling location to plan the route.
Sun tunnel installation know-how for Frome
In Frome, the choice between rigid and flexible sun tunnels depends on the distance and direction between the roof dome and the ceiling diffuser.
- Longer tunnel runs and multiple bends reduce light output, so we design the shortest practical route.
- Flexible tunnels are used when the route around roof timbers is not straight.
- We finish the ceiling diffuser and roof dome neatly to match the room and roof covering.
- Rigid sun tunnels are the most efficient option when the roof dome is almost directly above the ceiling.
